Hey Rick - So sorry I wasn’t able to make it back from SD in time…so I’m posting my homework assignment here for your perusal! It’s a bummer Boingo season had to land right on top of the class but I’m very grateful you’ve let me participate despite my attendance issues! Here are my 4 Character - I found some royalty free copy online and just read a bunch of random fake commercials for the characters. 2 takes each.
JAY
I’m still working on this Jay character. Of all these “characters” this one is the most layered. He is all those things people said he was last week but he is a sympathetic guy despite all his “faults”…I’m still not nailing it.I will work on him more!
NAME: Jay
CATCH PHRASE: Why would anyone do that?
VIBE: Literal, everything is literal and precise and is only real and correct if it is in his head. All math no heart.
Ambivalent Lad
The ambivalent lad is a riff that me and my best friend have done for years…not much more to it then that.
NAME: Ambivalent Lad
CATCH PHRASE: I don’t fuckin’ care/know do I?
VIBE: Frustrated, agitated, callous, mean, insecure, ignorant
DANNY
Danny is a friend of mine. He’s always stoned, and he’s always well intentioned, but can wax on and on with some high school level optimism.
NAME: Danny
CATCH PHRASE: Bro, I wanna’ make this happen for you Bro.
VIBE: Stoned, passionate, extremely heartfelt, thinks he’s very profound, but is also very genuine.
MAD GLAD DAD
Mad Glad Dad is more or less a remix of a Keanu Reeves type dude-bro, but that came about reading to me daughter a book called “My Dad Loves Me”…and every time I read it to her, the word Dad became more and more like Daaahhhdd…and then the rhyming started.
NAME: Mad Glad Dad
CATCH PHRASE: Hey Dad, don’t be mad, be glad!
VIBE: Raspy voiced lovable beach bum dummy ala Keanu on helium.
